The Bangladesh Insurance Academy (BIA) recently held a comprehensive training program on bancassurance for officials from Midland Bank at BIA’s head office in Mohakhali, Dhaka. This three-day event was designed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in the integration of banking and insurance services, known as bancassurance.
Md Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, graced the program as the chief guest. A total of 52 executives and officers from Midland Bank, along with faculties from BIA, participated in the training.
The event was chaired by Zahid Hossain, Joint Secretary and Director (Additional Duty) of the Bangladesh Insurance Academy. Prominent attendees included Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director and CEO of Midland Bank, and SM Nuruzzaman, CEO of Zenith Islami Life Insurance, who were present as special guests.
Key figures in the field, such as Md Rashed Akter, Head of Bancassurance Department at Midland Bank, and Shahadat Hossain, Head of Bancassurance Department at Zenith Islami Life, along with other officials from both organizations, also attended the event.
The training program underscores the commitment of both the banking and insurance sectors to fostering collaboration and ensuring that their teams are well-equipped with the latest industry practices and knowledge. The initiative is expected to significantly benefit the participating officials, enhancing their capacity to provide integrated financial services to customers.
